The Average Cost of a Used Camper Van

A used camper van is the best choice for RV and casual camping enthusiasts. You are more likely to get the best deal if you purchase from a trusted dealer.

Older models, such as the 2007 Ford EB campervan, can be purchased for between $25,000 and $30,000. A 2018 Ford Transit with high mileage could cost you between $75,000 to $80,000.

Is A Camper Van Worth It?

You are probably looking for a campervan or converting an existing vehicle into one. You will doubt whether or not you should buy one. Trust me, this is something I know.

Most of the answers to this question are opinion-based. The majority of factors will depend on your personal circumstances. But I can tell you why I think a campervan is worth the cost. These are:

  • Vacations can be cheaper
  • A camper van can get you to remote places.
  • Driving allows you to see more than flying.
  • It’s a great way for the family to bond through a trip in a camper van.
  • Campervans can be more comfortable than they appear.
  • It can be used for events at hotels that are sold out such as F1.
  • It can be used as a daily vehicle, if necessary.

How expensive are camper vans?

This market can quickly become expensive. Even though the starting prices are lower, there are many options. Your $35,000 camper van cost suddenly jumps to $50,000. This principle is even more true for high-end campervans.

You’ll see many campervans that cost less than $150,000 if you just take the price out of the equation. One of our favorite campervans is the Alabama-made storyteller Overland Mod.

The 4×4 Ford base can do almost anything and comes with a $150,000 price tag.

Conclusion

When writing articles, I try to be objective. Although I may be biased, I believe that a campervan is the best way to travel across the United States and other countries.
